Sandpiper Avenue – Point Wells

The building brief

Creating a dream home hadn’t got off to an easy start at all for our clients. Their 315m² two-storey home is built in a lovely, new subdivision in Point Wells and, as such, there are covenants on the design. Our clients came to us stressed out with incomplete concept plans that were not accepted by the developers.

What we did

We worked closely with both our clients and design team on this build. We introduced them to our architect and quickly their concept plan had been redesigned with ideas they loved and had been accepted by subdivision developers.

We have created a beautiful family home using the highest quality of construction materials, while our very singular focus allowed us to stay within schedule and budget.

The build

The stand-out feature of this family home is the large mezzanine floor that spans most of the 2^nd storey and is finished by a glass balustrade, giving views to the downstairs area and gorgeous hardwood floors.

The four-bedroom family home has two bathrooms and two separate lounge areas. The long racking ceilings add drama, as do the beautiful macrocarpa stairs and stairwell.

The master bedroom on the second storey enjoys ocean views and each bedroom has high cathedral ceilings.

The north-west facing designer kitchen, scullery and dining areas are surrounded by a huge hardwood decking area, giving great indoor-outdoor flow. Skylights above the kitchen provide light and atmosphere throughout the day as the sun moves across the house.

For the exterior cladding, we have used vertical cedar cladding with board and batons.

What we liked

Building this home for our clients has been a thoroughly satisfying journey for all parties involved. A new home is the biggest investment most people are likely to make and it means an enormous amount. Working closely with the clients and architect we were all able to agree on a terrific house design, get a clear understanding of the planning and consent process and then through careful, thorough in-house project management, create the home our clients really wanted.
